Neither East nor West

Vladimir Berezansky, Jr. is an American attorney of Russian heritage. Born in New York City, he attained his bachelor’s degree at Columbia University. Following a year’s studies as an exchange student on the linguistics faculty at Leningrad State University, Vladimir received his Juris Doctorate at American University (Washington College of Law) and qualified as a practicing attorney with the Washington, DC Bar. Vladimir has worked for more than fifteen years in Russia and other CIS and Baltic republics.

In the 1990’s he worked with several major international law firms in Vladivostok, Almaty (Kazakhstan) and in Moscow. From 2002 – 2004, he was Director, International Law & Compliance for the MDM Financial Group, following which he worked at the Cyprus headquarters of a major Russian industrial holding. His primary areas of expertise include due diligence (on Russian legal entities), corporate governance and compliance.
